Brad's friend Rich is here from South Carolina. They were big buds in college. Rich met us down in Dallas when we went to the A&M game two weekends ago.
They are sitting in front of the jukebox picking songs to listen to...right now it's "Destination Unknown" by Missing Persons. The song before was "Crazy Train" by Ozzy of course...see what I mean about crazy music. Now we have "Shout at the Devil"....whoo boy! gotta love some Motely Crue.
They crack me up with their song choices...yay! they have finally played one that I picked. We are actually going through our Halloween party music list and this is "Tubular Bells" by Book of Love.
I can't believe we are still up at 1am. Specially B-rad. Hee hee, he will be all grumpy in the morning....later this morning.

BLEH!
I feel completely and utterly dull. I really have nothing to type about... I could put up the usual proud mommy drivel: Kenzie is starting to use the potty almost all the time, Lyanna is still very cute.... but I dunno that doesn't seem very exciting.
I could put up some new pictures ...the one's of the girls from Easter are really nice..but that goes along with the proud mommy stuffage.
I could talk about how my class is starting to get things rolling for our 20th class reunion...that IS kind of interesting, but I'm not sure what I want to say about that.
Our basement is almost finished. We got our jukebox last week. It is SWEET and I'm loving putting music on it and listening to it.
I'm reading Stephen King. Discovering how much I like his Dark Tower books again.. *I'm on the 2nd one*
Spring needs to get here, I'm sick of being cooped up in the house, I want to go visit my family in Arkansas, but that isn't possible right now...... and I wish I had more close friends here in Ohio.

Running With the Devil
Oh yeah, I went and saw Van Halen in Cleveland, Wednesday night!! It was AWESOME!! Another band that I never thought I would get to see together again in my lifetime. Eddie Van Halen is AMAZING on guitar. Probably the best guitarist I've ever seen/heard in person. He rocked on "Eruption"...just unbelievable.
And yes DAVID LEE ROTH is back! *Van Halen with Sammy Hagar and that other guy from Extreme doesn't really exist for me* I love Diamond Dave! He is such the performer. Can't do all the crazy jumping around like he did back in the 80's but he still has that high kick!
He sounds just like he always did. I had flashbacks to being 14 again and sitting in my best friend's room, hanging out with all the "heads". All the guys liked her and I was always the odd girl out....until we got older.
They didn't have Michael Anthony with them...but Wolfgang *Eddie's son* did a fairly decent job. I only saw him get flustered on one song...and I think they got off track as a whole band.
And so, I leave you with some classic Van Halen: JUMP! *The year I made cheerleader we tried out to this song* They ended the concert with this song...oh Dave, you were so hot then....you are so strange now.... I know he misses that hair.

Manic Monday: Orange
The word for today is: ORANGE
I am currently working on teaching my 2 and 3 year olds their colors. Now the 3 year old pretty much has the basics down. She knows the colors and can point to them and tell you what they are....she has no clue about letters and numbers, but by golly she knows the colors.
The 2 year old knows the color pink. That's about it. BUT...she can tell you what every letter of the alphabet is, by sight. AND she knows all her numbers by sight. It's scary...
What I am working on with both of them is a series of songs about the major colors. We have a song for Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, Purple, Orange, Brown, Pink, Black, and White. I am going to share the Orange song with you today. You are so lucky!

I was a Techno freaky girl....
So I have started working out again. This means that I need motivating music. In my quest to download music on i-tunes I ended up back in the techno world...
In the early 90's I lived in Little Rock. I had my own apartment and was going to nursing school. Yeah, I know....I was in nursing school. Hard to believe isn't it.
One of my best friends from high school was also living there and she and I had a BLAST! We went "clubbing" at least 4 times a week. I don't have any idea how I did and managed to keep a Four point in my classes but I was young and crazy.
The best club in Little Rock was *and still is I think* Discovery. It was considered a gay club, but EVERYBODY went on Saturday nights. There was a dance floor on one side, games and crap in the middle and a stage on the other side where they had drag shows. It was THE place to be on Saturdays. During that time Techno was the "in" thing. That was all they played at Discovery....I still love listening to some of it...makes me want to get up and shake my groove thing...I've downloaded a shitload of it for my workout playlist.
Let's see, where else did we go... Our Wednesday night place was called Reunion. We knew everyone who worked there. Wednesday was ladies night so it was always packed. Because we were such the club regulars we NEVER stood in line there. It was pretty sweet to just walk past everyone and get ushered in by the door dude.
Thursdays.... I think we went to the bar at a place called Cajun's Wharf. It was an excellent seafood restaurant, but we couldn't afford to eat there, we just hung out at the bar.....they usually had live bands.
Fridays were kind of wierd. There really wasn't anywhere to go on Fridays. Sometimes we went to Reunion again, sometimes to a place called My Generation. Alot of times Friday's we just hung out with friends.
Sunday nights...we went to the Country Western club. BJ's Honky Tonk...it was not country western on Sundays. They had "The Duck Races" on Sundays. Cracks me up just thinking about it. You know those carnival games where you pick the duck. Those were what they had. Everyone picked a duck and they let them all race and the person who's duck won the race got free shots. There was a whole routine to it. Everyone knew all the duck's names, and it was announced just like a the horse races. I wish I could remember some of the names....
Anyway...listening to the techno made me remember all these things...fun fun fun!
