Just Randomness again...but I'm Posting!

So, in an effort to continue on, even though I don't really feel like I have much to talk about. I'm going to write tonight.

The hubby and I got to have a little time alone this evening. We took the girls to a "parents night out" activity. They got to play for three hours and we got to go out to eat alone. It was soooo nice. We went to the hibachi restaurant tonight. Yummy! I had part of a crab roll, seaweed salad, and filet mignon with fried rice and veggies. A nice glass of cabernet to go with it, and we sat with a very nice family.

Then we were off to the furniture store to look for a new love seat, and Lowe's to look for hardware for our new door we bought for the basement.

The basement is coming along well. They dry wall is totally up and patched and sanded. The ceiling is painted and they are going to texturize it tomorrow. THEN...they will prime the walls, and then they will paint!!! I can't wait to see how it looks once it is painted!! After the paint the moulding is going up and it will look like real rooms.

The girls and I spent the day at the in-laws house while the guys sanded the dry wall. I didn't really want Lyanna around all that dust with her allergies and asthma. We'll see how she does with the paint fumes....

Hmmm, what else is going on that I haven't gotten to share? I dunno.... still sad over Heath Ledger's death. Trying to get my husband to buy me a new cellphone. I hate the one's we have right now soooo bad that I've never even set up my voicemail on this one... I think I've had it over a year or so. I don't even have any contacts on it. It sucks much ass and I want to get rid of it so bad I can hardly stand it.

I've been reading alot, just finished the 5th Harry Potter book, Harlequin by Laurel K. Hamilton, and I FINALLY finished The Thirteenth Tale. Which I have to say was very good once I got into it a bit. I just started re-reading The Gunslinger books. I decided to re-read the whole series because I stopped with The Wizard and the Glass and I need to refresh my memory before finishing all the new books.

Flash Back Friday Returns....With a new twist.

I haven't done a Flashback Friday in a long time. The reason behind that being: no one has given me any dates to flashback to. So.....I decided to revamp the idea. I've noticed a lot of bloggers have Photo Friday. I didn't want to really copy that, but I'll take it a little further and combine the two.

I will now have Flashback Photo Friday. I promise, to the best of my ability, to have some sort of photo from the past to share with you on Fridays. If you want to participate in this with me, just leave me a comment about it. Here's the rules... You have to have a photo from the past. Can be your past, someone else's past, something you saw, something you think is intersting..etc. but it has to be from the past. Would be nice to have a paragraph to go with it, explaining what it is, or why it has meaning to you.

This is me in New Orleans, with a beer and a whole big bucket of crawdaddies! Yes, I am in the French Quarter and this was just moments before those little mud bugs were thrown into a big pot of boiling water with some seasoning, corn, and potatoes....tossed onto a plate, and then eaten by ME! Yummy for the tummy!

This was March 2003, hanging out in the Big Easy before leaving on our marriage/honeymoon cruise.....

I'm Outta Here!

Never fear, I am not leaving the blog world. I am just off for a "girl's" weekend.
I and 5 of my friends are off for a weekend of girl time. No husbands, kids, or stress...

We're gonna have lots of good gossip *is that possible?can gossip be good?*, good food, and artsy fartsy time. OMG this weekend away is for scrapbooking!!!

Yes, yes, I know....my brother already busted me out about it. Not a typical Lee kinda activity, but like I told him. These are my friends and I'm getting into the whole scrapbook thing because they love it and it's a great way for us to do some bonding. Lord knows I need to get some closer friends here...so, I am scrappin' it.

I went out and stocked up on candy and things with peanuts that I love to eat. It's my chance to eat Nutter Butters and Turtle Chex Mix since Lyanna can't have peanuts and I won't allow them in the house. I also bought Chewy Sweettarts, Bubble Gum, M&M's *good ole fasioned plain*, and a box of Good n Plenty. I LOVE licorice!!! Yes you can send me all your left over black jelly beans from Easter and I will be a happy woman.

So, I will see you all after the weekend. Wish me fun, and wish the hubby luck because it's his first weekend alone with the girls.

Wow is it Tuesday already? The weekend went by so fast. I can't even tell you what we did....

Oh yeah, we had a birthday party on Saturday. Went to the indoor play place called Out And About Kids. Really cool idea and great for winter time here. The girls had cake (I made special cupcakes for Lyanna with no eggs), Kenzie got to have icecream. They also had pizza and sub sandwichs for the adults.

Then we went to Ruby Tuesdays for a little something more substantial.

Thursday shall now be FOOD DAY!

I have totally ditched my diet since Brad is gone. Went to the dreaded evil vile place called Mc Donald's tonight and got a Hot Fudge Sundae. Why is it that their sundaes taste so freaking good to me. There is probably nothing that is real food in there....all super processed, chemical, lab created stuffage. It's probably full of addicting chemicals, just like with cigarettes...McD's just doesn't want us to know.....*creepy music plays*.... I have watched Super Size Me so many times it's ridiculous. It's just amazing to watch that guy's body change so dramatically over one month. Since watching that movie I think I have eaten at Mc D's three times?? It just really grosses me out now...and I'm trying to save up for when the girls get older. You KNOW they are going to want to go and eat there all the time. I can already hear the chorus of "Mom can we get a happy meal?" coming from behind the driver's seat.

And whatever happened to the McDonaldland Cookies???? When Happy Meals first came out, you got a burger, fries, COOKIES, and a toy. Now there are no cookies... why? I dont' know a kid who doesn't like cookies. Where did the cookies go? Why aren't they in the Happy Meal anymore? Inquiring minds want to know...

So... Brad is gone til tomorrow. He flew down to Arkansas so he could work the Rolling Stones concert. How cool is that? He does light rigging for concerts. A neato kind of job, specially when you get to watch the Stones. He is supposed to bring me home something cool from the show. I am home alone with Lyanna. Kenzie is staying with the grands. YAY!! Two nights in a row. It's been nice and quiet at home.

Susan *MIL* and I went to the mall today and shopped. Took the girls with us. I bought myself some socks.....I finally get out and go shopping with another woman and I buy socks. SHeesh! I bought Brad something, Kenzie something, Lyanna something.... I am pathetic.
