Home Again Home Again

I have so many things to talk about: Friday at the Stables, Scrapbookin', Monday night at the "Circus" and just the normal boring everyday stuffage.

So...Friday we went to the horse stables. Kenzie LOVES horses. She has just recently discovered My Little Pony and is all about them. We went last year but she was just a little young to really appreciate the horses. This year was totally different.

She HAD to wear her cowboy boots, even though they are too small for her now.
Can't go see or ride horses without boots!

They had a miniature horse which she got to feed and pet and poke. She was sooo happy to play with him. THEN...they got to ride on a horse. It was her first time!

She knew she had to wear a helmet and was so excited when it was her turn to put it on. The first thing she said when they placed her up on the horse was YYeeeeHaaawww! Then the trainer walked the horse in a circle. The smile on Kenzie's face was Huge! I think we definitely are going to have to get her riding lessons.

Lyanna liked the horses too. She kept trying to feed the little miniature horse dirt. It was pretty darn cute.

Here are some photos from Friday. I'll save the weekend with the girls for the next post.

I'm Outta Here!

Never fear, I am not leaving the blog world. I am just off for a "girl's" weekend.
I and 5 of my friends are off for a weekend of girl time. No husbands, kids, or stress...

We're gonna have lots of good gossip *is that possible?can gossip be good?*, good food, and artsy fartsy time. OMG this weekend away is for scrapbooking!!!

Yes, yes, I know....my brother already busted me out about it. Not a typical Lee kinda activity, but like I told him. These are my friends and I'm getting into the whole scrapbook thing because they love it and it's a great way for us to do some bonding. Lord knows I need to get some closer friends here...so, I am scrappin' it.

I went out and stocked up on candy and things with peanuts that I love to eat. It's my chance to eat Nutter Butters and Turtle Chex Mix since Lyanna can't have peanuts and I won't allow them in the house. I also bought Chewy Sweettarts, Bubble Gum, M&M's *good ole fasioned plain*, and a box of Good n Plenty. I LOVE licorice!!! Yes you can send me all your left over black jelly beans from Easter and I will be a happy woman.

So, I will see you all after the weekend. Wish me fun, and wish the hubby luck because it's his first weekend alone with the girls.

I love you Baby! Thanks for the weekend away!

Is it Monday again?

I have been lax again and haven't been keeping up. I have some good excuses.

1. My grandfather passed away.

2. My parents were here for a couple of days.

3. I have two toddlers to chase around.

4. I am an excellent procrastinator.

5. I picked up a book and started reading again.

There are the top five. I'm sure I could come up with some more if I put a little more effort into trying.

I think I will start out with a continuation of my "cars I have driven" post. So......Da Duh duh Da!!!! Car number 2 in the series.

This is an early 80's Buick Regal Station Wagon. The color is an exact match to the one we had. A sort of metallic powder blue. I also associate this car so much with my dad. It cracks me up to see this picture and how much this it looks like ours. Who knows this car may have been ours.....

I chose Robert Palmer "Addicted to Love" for this car. 1986 music....I drove this car my Junior and Senior year of high school. That was one of my favorite songs at the time and still is. I can remember singing to the song many times in that station wagon. Now let me clarify for all of you....this was not "my" car. It was my parent's car. I was allowed to drive it sometimes on the weekends with my friends. Other than that I mostly drove it on errands or after school/evening school activities.

When I went out on the weekends I usually went with one of my friends who had their own car. I usually drove their cars..which was fun cause some of them had some really cool cars. BUT...this was the main car I drove that belonged to MY family.

Everyone knew me in "the wagon". We cruised Main Street, or Drug Main....an endless loop from one end of town to the other. You started at the Grocery store and the turn around was in Sonic. If you really wanted someone to see you you parked in Sonic and waited for them to pull in too. I know, I know so typical small town teen stuff.

My friends loved it when I got to drive the wagon. We could pile twice as many of us in there than in anyone else's car. Heck, I even bought booze on my own a couple of times in that car.

This car had a much sadder fate than the Torino. My parents eventually gave the wagon to my brother. He drove it til something was wrong with it and then let it rust out in his garage. Poor wagon...silly brother. I think they had to get a truck to come and get it and carry it off. Maybe someone used it's parts for another car and it lives on.....

Flashback for Easter: 2003-2007

Happy Easter!

I hope you all have a very blessed Easter whether you celebrate the Resurrection or the beginning of Spring!

I have missed a few "Flashback Fridays" so I will try to make up for it today with a flashback of some Easter moments. I am putting up two different videos. The first is family video of the girls last Easter. If you aren't family you may not be too interested in it because it is kind of long, but the girls are pretty darn cute in my opinion and you can listen to Brad's narration...which is usually pretty good for a few laughs. *seriously, I had to do some major editing to keep out some of his random ramblings*

The second video is a series of photos I put to some festive Easter medleys. It starts with photos from 2003 and goes to this year. The first few photos are of me and the hubby. We went on our honeymoon and got married in April of 2003, in that order...I'll explain at a later date. The one of us sitting in the yard is when I was about 5 months preggers with Kenzie. Then on to Kenzie's first Easter, Lyanna's first Easter......then a couple of pics from this year.

All of the pictures are taken in April or on Easter. It is a nice spring theme for the holiday. I hope you enjoy them.
